Knowledge Base Express: V/TO™ (Vision/Traction Organizer™) Overview

Feb 15, 2026 | Education, Knowledge Base

Think of your V/TO™ (Vision/Traction Organizer™) as more than just a simple planning document — it’s an in-depth business plan that clearly defines your long-term vision, annual goals, and quarterly milestones all in one place. Instead of sitting on a shelf, it becomes a living roadmap that connects big-picture direction to weekly execution. When your leadership team consistently reviews and updates the V/TO™, it ensures everyone stays aligned on priorities, focused on measurable goals, and accountable to the milestones that drive real progress.

Your V/TO™ (Vision/Traction Organizer™) in GoExpand is the central place where your leadership team defines where the organization is going and how you’ll get there. It brings clarity to your long-term vision and connects it directly to your day-to-day execution so your team can gain real Traction®.

To create or edit your V/TO™, select the Performance icon from the top navigation panel and click V/TO™. From there, choose the + Add New button to create a new V/TO™ or select an existing one to update.

Vision

The Vision section of the V/TO™ defines your long-term direction and aligns your leadership team around a shared future. It typically includes:

Core Values – the guiding principles that shape your culture and define the right people for your organization
Core Focus™ – your purpose, cause, or passion and the niche you serve best
10-Year Target™ – a clear long-term goal that defines where you are headed
Marketing Strategy – your ideal customer, what makes you unique, and how you consistently deliver value
3-Year Picture™ – a vivid description of what your organization should look like three years from now

Together, these components ensure your leadership team is 100% on the same page about where the organization is going.

Traction

The Traction section turns your vision into clear, actionable priorities. It typically includes:

1-Year Plan – the most important goals your organization must accomplish this year
Quarterly Rocks – the top priorities that must be completed in the next 90 days
Scorecard – the weekly measurable numbers that tell you whether you are on track

This section bridges vision and execution by clearly defining what needs to happen, who owns it, and how success will be measured.

SWOT

The SWOT section helps your leadership team evaluate your organization’s current position and think strategically. It includes:

Strengths – internal capabilities that give you an advantage
Weaknesses – internal gaps or areas that need improvement
Opportunities – external trends or openings you can leverage for growth
Threats – external risks or obstacles that could impact performance

Completing this section helps your team surface issues early, identify strategic gaps, and make better long-term decisions.

Before editing your V/TO™, click the Archive button to save a snapshot of your current version. Archiving preserves your history and allows you to track how your vision and priorities evolve over time.
